Mason, MI - a coyote confronted a family as they were celebrating the weekend with a barbecue on Friday evening. Apparently, the coyote grabbed the leg of a young child and attempted to drag a child off, but the parents were quickly able to recover the child. As the family continued to attempt to scare the coyote into full retreat, the coyote grabbed a kitten and then ran off. The kitten has not been recovered.
The family said they had never seen a coyote in the area before, and didn’t know that they were really here in the Mason area.
