Governor Phil Murphy has passed a into law late Friday night , a law that will require a permit to Metal Detect anywhere in Camden, Glouster, Atlantic, Salem and Cumberland Counties. The permits will cost $200 per year. He did this this to raise money to repair damages done to state land by holes left not filled. Anyone caught Metal Detecting without the new yearly permit starting September 1st 2018 will be given a fine. First time five 1,000 and loss of equipment. Second time 2,000 fine and loss of equipment. Third time 5,000 fine and loss of equipment and barred from getting any permits in the stare of New Jersey for 10 years
