Corey Storbinsky from Michigan wiped out three animal shelters last week when he adopted forty-nine homeless cats. We met up with him to find out why.
Reporter: Good evening, Mr. Storbinsky. Can I ask why one person would adopt forty-nine cats at one time?
CS: Well, you see, this is how it happened. I had two cats. I named them New York and 8-ball. New York has been feeling self-conscious lately and I think it is because I gave my cats such unique names. I decided that the best remedy was to adopt forty-nine other cats and name them after each of the other states. That way New York won't feel strange. See that tabby in the window? That's Georgia. The orange cat climbing the curtains is Massachusetts. And the one sitting on the porch is Idaho.
Reporter: That is very, um... well-intentioned. But won't 8-ball feel like the, excuse my pun, odd ball out now?
CS: Yes. That's why I am looking to adopt several others in the near future. Basketball, Tennis ball, Hockey puck... they will be home soon.
