Nearly a year after Dosage Recording artist Mike Lawrey's arrest for murder by strangulation, attorneys for the embattled hip hop artist say they are ready for trial. A spokesman for the victim's family delivered a scathing rant directed at Lawrey's defense team and investigators saying "YA'LL KNEW THAT M*********R WAS OUT HERE HUGGING GUYS TO THE POINT OF INJURY TWO YEARS BEFORE THIS AND YOU FAILED TO MAKE HIM SERVE TIME. NOW HE DONE HUGGED MY NEPHEW TO DEATH IN A DAMN RECORDING STUDIO."
Attorneys for Lawrey declined to comment.
Dosage Records dropped Lawrey as an artist shortly after his 4th hugging arrest.
The trial for Lawrey could begin as soon as December.
