Late buses, no- show buses, and hundreds of tardy students. Less than one year sense the controversial decision, Chesterfield County is admitting the error of it's ways. There has been complete chaos in terms of transportation in the morning and afternoons since the new schedule was implemented.

Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, Chesterfield County students will revert to their previous school schedules. Elementary schools will start at 7:25, middle schools will being at 8:25, and high schools will being at 9:35.

There are mixed reactions among teachers, students, and staff. Cameron Kohler, a teacher a James River says he is disappointed to here about the change. "You know, I live an hour away, and with high school starting even later, traffic will be even more of a nightmare on Interstate 64. I'm pretty angry teachers were not consulted given the rapid decision change just last year."

Luis Gonzales, a middle schooler at Swift Creek, says he is elated with the change as he often feels, "dead inside and like a zombie when my alarm goes off so early." Luis expressed relief at having more time to sleep in next school year, since he often has late nights, "battling classmates on Fortnite."

Some chesterfield county residents are planning to protest the change and ask the Board of Supervisors to reconsider their decision, however, the next board meeting is not scheduled until 2019.

"This is ridiculous!," Becky Taylor yelled during our interview. "This is another example of reckless decision making by our government officials. Who's going to watch my children in the afternoon when they get home at 1:45? Now, I'm going to have to find child care. I deserve better as tax payer,"

Leslie Haley, the Midlothian Supervisor, declined comment when we reached out to her for comment. Story will continue to develop.
