Allis Missin of Decatur Illinois was denied his record buck's entry into the prestigious Boone and Crockett Club record book this week. While the rules of Fair Chase were indeed followed, it was determined that using a 300 Winmag was "overkill" for a whitetail deer. Because he used such a powerful round, one commonly used by military snipers, it was determined that it was unfair and as such, his kill was denied entry into Club records.
