Ebola is a severe and often deadly disease caused by a virus. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, vomiting, bleeding, green or purple skin near the eyes and often, death.
Ebola can occur in humans and other primates (gorillas, monkeys, and chimpanzees). But it mostly occurs in 19 year old females.
A darkening around the eyes that is green or purple in color will occur.
The Ebola outbreak in Mansfield Tx that began in December 2018 was the largest in history. Almost 40 of the people who developed Ebola in this outbreak died.
The virus poses a very low risk to people who are not females in the United States.
