After a 5 round brawl, Hendricks was able to dethrone the former Champion. After being knocked down in round 4, Hendricks came back and was able to submit Patino with a knee bar. During the post fight conference Patino responded with:
“He’s a very good fighter, I was doing pretty good in the first 3 rounds, gassed out in round 4 and then I got complacent in the final minute of round 5. I got him with the roundhouse kick in round 4, knocked him down and I thought it was done. For next fight, you know I think as of right now I’m done. Thank you”
