A few weeks ago; we spoke to Joanne Lee and her husband; Iginio Straffi of Rainbow Srl, and they both confirmed that Season 8 is indeed the final season of Winx Club.
Iginio said this; "We at Rainbow have had the ending of the the series written for quite some time, however we have written the final episode of the series four different times because we were unsure which way the series should conclude.
We have come to conclude that Bloom becomes the Ultimate Villain of the series; "The Dragon Princess".
Joanne and I along with the production teams at Rainbow, have decided to have The Dragon Princess kill Sky, but Stella (Bloom's best friend) will defeat The Dragon Princess by confessing her love to Bloom. Bloom will hear this and come to briefly, the Trix will return from Oblivion, and Icy will tell Bloom that while in Oblivion, she, Darcy and Stormy discovered Icy's deep connection with Bloom. Icy tells Bloom that they're related and that the ancestral witches kidnapped her and turned her evil. This will cause Bloom to snap back to her old self, she'll see everything she did as The Dragon Princess, including how she killed Sky, she reject Stella's confession of love, then Princess Diaspro will confront Bloom, tell her that she has fallen in love with Bloom, Bloom will accept Diaspro's love and offer her friendship, but Diaspro wants to be more than just friends, Diaspro will confess her love toward Bloom, then she'll ask Bloom to marry her. Bloom will say "Yes" and the series will conclude with Diaspro & Bloom tying the knot.
