The school’s baby boom recently made national news, with outlets like CNN and Fox calling it a "happy coincidence" and declaring, "there's something in the water."
And that's not the only workplace where a plethora of pregnant women made headlines.
In the past year-and-a-half, a whopping eight on-air employees at CNN were or are expecting. And at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina, six nurse practitioners are pregnant at once. When I was expecting my first in 2014, there were also six of us, each with a due date about one month ahead of the next mom-to-be. Sure, baby booms are to be expected at companies that employ many women of childbearing age. But there’s something more wonderful at play when new motherhood is impending for multiple staffers. And it's not the water.
Women feel like they can be pregnant and be moms at their jobs—and still be successful.

Over the past 6 months Kalamazoo Valley Community College has seen a influx of soon to be mommies and daddies. President Washington shares “After the first five it began to get a little weird, I mean 4 women have announced pregnancies in the past month.”

Congratulations to Bethany Lakensie, Samantha Fuller, Lydia Cole, Jessie Opz, Lillian Cuppet, Linda Tets, Laura Simmons, Maketa Jackson, Marietta Lotz, and Dayna Gibbs on their bundles of joys.

With the turnover in staff the positions will be interimly filled. There will be a site wide baby shower May 24th at the Texas Township Campus tenitavely.
