In a late afternoon news conference, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announces that all Pennsylvania schools are to remain closed. “Due to covid19 and the CDC guidelines, schools will be unable to comply with the social distancing and limited gatherings, therefore, in an effort to cease the spread of Covid19, it is imperative that schools remain closed”. Details for distance learning will be sent to schools on Monday so that they have enough time to obtain technology needed and train teaching staff. A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday to discuss guidelines with school superintendents. Wolf remains hopeful that if schools practice distance learning, they should be ready to open for students in mid November.
