Ken and Dee Kohles, from Islip NY, decided to make a dream come true, and climb Mount Washington, NH. They had prepared for this for years and on Friday, the day had arrived. The put on all of their hiking gear, including food and blankets, and headed up the mountain. Dee said that the hike was like climbing three steps at a time for 6,000 feet. Ken said that this was the hardest thing that he had ever done, but got through it. As they were climbing, they were passed by younger groups, but they were determined and kept climbing. finally finished the climb in under 8 hours and hitched a ride back down on the railroad. In the end, Dee felt great but Ken was not able to walk for a week. Asked if he would do this again, he responded "HELL NO". Congratulations on making the hike safely!!
