Late Tuesday evening seaman Ja’van Barrett answered to the call of duty. He protected elderly woman ( Gladys Samuel, 76) when she was approached by two muggers with masks late that evening on her way home from the store. While she pleaded for help Mr.Barrett rushed to her aid and subdued both muggers unconscious and held them until the local police arrived on scene and apprehended the men.
