Naperville teen arrested after leading officers on a chase with his dirt bike

NAPERVILLE, IL- On Wednesday evening a local teen led officers on a 2 hour long police chase on his dirt bike.

According to Naperville Police, 18 year-old Connor Resler, a local resident to Naperville, was out on a evening stroll on his illegal dirt bike when a Naperville officer located the bright yellow Suzuki dirt bike on the corner of book road and 103rd street. Officer Danial Kwubik attempted to pull him over, then Resler took off, leading them on a two hour police chase involving more then 10 squad cars with assistance of the Naperville Park District Police and DuPage County sheriffs department. The two hour long chase consisted of “wheelies, speeding, disobeying traffic laws, and much more reckless driving” from Resler according to Naperville PD’s Lt. Jason Arres.

The officers lost sight multiple times during the chase, and were finally able to apprehend Resler “only because his bike ran out of gas” according to officers on the scene, as he seemed “to be toying with us the whole time”

Resler was brought to DuPage County jail where he was released on a $10,000 bond Thursday morning, awaiting trial on charges of felony eluding, reckless driving, reckless endangerment ,and driving without proper registration or insurance.

Naperville Police also impounded the Motorcycle as a deterrent to all other illegal dirtbikers.
