Winchester Varsity Hockey Has It’s Eyes Set On The Future

Although Winchester finished with a rocky record of 6-15-5, it was their younger talents that led the way throughout the season. Studs like Maxwell Tong, A freshman who finished with 16 points and 5 goals. Another star throughout the year for Winchester was sophomore Henry Wilson. Wilson finished with the season with 10 goals and 14 assists. These two leaders had some help from some role players Such as Michael Nigro, a freshman who finished with 15 points and 30 PIM. A lot of stupid penalties throughout the season, resulted with Nigro not seeing the ice much later in the season, IF he can control his temper on the ice, he is a talented skater who likes to shoot and can hopefully find the back of the net a lot next season.
We interviewed a few senior captains on the Winchester boys hockey team and here’s what they have to say:
“Who contributed to the team the most throughout the season this year” we asked Senior Captain Colin Van Stry.
“Maxwell Tong, he played an important role on our team last season and we know that he will continue to develop and provide for our team for this upcoming season.”
We asked another senior captain, Angelo Mario, who the best player on the team is going to be this year.
“Not Nigro” Mario said without hesitation.
