University of Michigan runner, Gabrielle Swider, has been known to wear rival school Michigan State apparel, including hoodies. When confronted, Gabby simply said "It is so comfortable". Some of her Wolverine teammates are flabbergasted that Gabby could do this. Teammate Maddie Brand said that is was "A sad day in A Squared".
Swider was issued a citation and court date for the violation, but the court date is currently on hold as Swider must serve 90 days at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor before she can appear in court.
Swider has also been a part of the Michigan High School Athletic Association official recruiting program.
