Police ID 14-year-old fatally shot on Syracuse’s Near West Side

Nay Marie was shot outside of a home in the 400 block of Shonnard Street, according to a news release issued by Syracuse police. She was rushed to Upstate University Hospital, where he died, police said. She was trying to visit Radames Francisco mother sister says. At about 11:30 p.m., police could be seen rushing into a home in force. Police had been using a bull horn to communicate with someone in a house. The shooting drew a massive police presence: 30 police cars lined Shonnard Street, including the SWAT team, sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police. Onondaga County’s Air 1 helicopter also circled overhead at one point. The court papers do not say how many times she was shot or where she was shot at.
