Quantum scientist managed to develop the first quantum smartphone based on quantum computing. The team led by Qubit Research at the university created and developed such kind of smartphone. The phone has been designed based on a hybrid quantum device of superconducting quantum computer. The phone was developed from the idea of creating a hybrid quantum system. The device integrates several components including a quantum processor chip and the Android operating system. The operating system is an ideal platform for development of the software for smartphones. It’s a powerful, flexible, and robust platform for development of different types of applications. The smartphone runs the Android operating system on Google’s mobile cloud platform. The software for the device was also developed by the team using the TensorFlow, a popular library for machine learning. This allows the device to interact with several AI apps. The device is equipped with a 10-core Android processor and 6 GB of RAM. According to the research, the device features an impressive performance with a processor speed of 1.5 GHz. It has 2 GB of storage capacity and is capable of working at a high speed in the 2.4 GHz band. The device is also equipped with a 5 MP camera and a 4000 mAh battery. The smartphone, Quantum Computer Phone The smartphone is a prototype based on a hybrid system. To integrate the system, they have used a quantum computer chip called a superconducting quantum processor, and the quantum coherence is provided by a hybrid device called a hybrid quantum computer. At the time of testing, it has been observed that the device runs at a low power consumption rate of 300 mW with a temperature of 25 °C. The energy can be decreased even further by optimizing the code for the application. As of now, the phone cannot run applications. They said that the phone is also designed to protect user’s data from the device itself. The team has been working on the device for over two years now. The smartphone should have been available for sales on November 10, 2017.
