Baru-baru ini, kelompok peretas atau hacker yang mengatasnamakan diri sebagai Hacktivist Indonesia mengaku akan melakukan serangan terhadap 12.000 website India buntut dari pernyataan kontroversial Pendeta Hindu India, Yati Narsinghanad Giri, yang sudah menghina Islam.
Pada 15 April misalnya, mereka mengabarkan sudah membobol sistem keamanan Icici Bank – perusahaan jasa keuangan terbesar kedua di India. Tapi, tidak diketahui berapa banyak pengguna yang terpengaruh dari serangan siber itu.
Salah satu hacker yang berhasil meretas website strategis di India adalah MR ARWN ia berhasil meretas setidaknya 40 website strategis di India termasuk situs pemerintah, rumah sakit dan juga situs universitas tinggi di india.
