Around 10pm, Wheeler was claimed to be a threat to his small community of Elmont Long island. Neighbors claimed to have seen him holding a weapon and called Nassau County police. Police arrived to the home of Mr.Wheeler and there was no response. Eventually officers managed to break down the door and get into the 18 year olds bedroom where one officer claimed he was shot. This prompted the officer to fire several bullets into the lower torso of the body. The "weapon" that was used to shoot the officer was a bb gun. A toy very popularly used by teenagers of this century. The case is currently under investigation by the Nassau County police department
