Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, Alaska Schools have been closed to for weeks and don't look likely to open again this year. Dr. Michael Johnson, Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development said, “In order to ensure that all Alaska children can get ahead, we need to hold them back.”
