Maine Sex Offender Lorne Armstrong was shot and killed in what police to believe to be a robbery gone wrong last night in his trailer park. His trailer was found to be looted, and his body was discovered around midnight by a neighbor. Armstrong was believed to have been dead for around an hour, and had been shot five times.
Lorne Armstrong was previously arrested and convicted for attempting to solicit sex from a 13 year old girl. This girl was actually a decoy working with Perverted Justice, operating a sting operation with police and Dateline NBC for their series, To Catch A Predator. Police say they are unsure if this influenced the motive of the attack.
