Today, the federal government announced that the upcoming economic stimulus checks will be reduced to $25 for people who make less than $150k per year. When asked why this decision was made Steve Mnuchin was quoted as saying, "helping people financially with federal money is socialism, so we should reduce the amount that most people receive in order to maintain our status as a capitalist country." Earners that make $150k, or more per year, will receive $6,500.
