MARCH 31, 2020 – Oklahoma City: Today in coordination with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Superintendent Joy Hofmeister and various superintendents of local schools, Governor Kevin Stitt decreed that all public school children will be held back for an additional year due to the COVID-19 crisis.

When reached for comment, Gov. Stitt said, “It will likely anger some parents, but we have to look out for the kids’ best interests. At this time they may start in August, or even December of next year. We will consider just how far to hold them back at that time.”
