In a landmark overnight decision, Congress has reached a compromise regarding the American Health Care Act. The measure, H.R. 2069, commonly referred to as "Trumpcare" was passed in the House chamber with a 220-215 majority vote in favor. The proposed Obamacare repeal abolishes the Medicaid system in its entirety, leaving States to adopt their own Medicaid system. The bill also eradicates subsidies for those over the age of 40, and no longer requires insurers to offer preventative health benefits as included in their plans, amongst a long list of other provisions.
