Historians at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC, recently uncovered the birth certificate of our first president and were shocked to discover that he had a middle name. The birth certificate states that he was born George Melvin Washington in 1732, son of Augustus "Gus" Washington and Mary Washington in Virginia. Furthermore, evidence has been uncovered that young George actually did chop down his father's favorite cherry tree.
