July 5, 2018 - Southgate Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying an apprehending a suspect that broke into Southgate City Hall and released more than 30 rats in Mayor Joseph Kuspa's office late on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018. Surveillance footage is of poor quality but does show a White Male, late 50's to early 60's, wearing blue jeans and gray colored t-shirt entering the Mayor's office with a live trap full of rats and releasing the vermin on the Mayor's desk. Southgate Animal Control has been called to re-capture and or eliminate the rodent infestation but the say the chances of completely ridding the building of the rodents once introduces to the building are very slim. If anyone has any information regarding the suspect or suspects involved with this crime please contact the Southgate Police Department at 734-867-5309.
