21 Savage was arrested Monday night (Jan. 2) by federal ATF and Homeland Security agents on six counts of various racketeering, firearms, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy murder charges through his involvement with the Bloods, says the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Georgia. The indictment finds 21 staring down a life sentence and a minimum of 32 years behind bars if convicted, according to the prosecutors. Following a contentious day in court Tuesday (Jan. 3), the Atlanta rapper was denied bail by U.S. Magistrate John Kevin Franks after his lawyer, Alex Spiro, offered up to $1.5 million in Savage’s bank account and agreed to surrender his passport just to keep him out of detention before trial gets going, reports Courthouse News Service. According to TMZ, 6ix9ine is being held in the general population part of the Atlanta City Detention Center. The report goes on to quote the U.S. Justice Department calling the BMC a “notoriously brutal” federal jail with “extremely violent” inmates.
