21 Savage has reportedly been moved from prison to a federal facility only days after the rapper was warned that he could face life behind bars.
The ‘No Heart’ artist – real name Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph – was remanded in custody on Tuesday (January 3) after facing an initial court appearance where prosecutors confirmed he faces racketeering and firearms charges alongside three other men. If found guilty, Savage faces a minimum sentence of 32 years and a maximum of life in prison. The charges reportedly arise from a five-year investigation into the Sex Money Murda Bloods street gang, of which Savage is allegedly a member. Although the rapper’s request for bail was denied last Tuesday, he has now reportedly been moved from the Federal Prison of Georgia’s DeKalb County Jail to a federal facility. An inmate search on the Federal Bureau of Prisons seemingly reveals that Savage was released from prison yesterday evening. TMZ are behind these new reports, with the outlet claiming that Savage is now being held in a federal facility known for housing “neutral inmates” who are often “witnesses who cooperate with the feds”. The rapper’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told TMZ that the transfer was made for “security reasons”.
