A local military veteran won $47,000 in the Oregon lottery, but instead of using it for himself he donated it to charity.
Robert Gallagher was a big winner on the state's new Lucky Leprechaun game with the pot-o-gold prize doubler. Gallagher says he thought about giving the money to friends, but that plan fell apart when he realized he doesn't have any. So he did the next best thing and donated the entire amount to The Human Fund.
"They do a lot for humans and it's tax deductible", Gallagher said.
