A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot this afternoon in the Las Vegas Trail neighborhood on the West Side.
At 1:55 p.m., suspect now known as Nathaniel Rogers walked up to the boy in the 2800 block of Calmont Street and shot him, police said.
Police said the boy was unresponsive on the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim has been identified as Khalil Frye.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death, but could not provide additional details early Thursday.
