Walter Becker Speaks From Heaven. Says "Check Your Sources, Bitches".

The voice of founding Steely Dan member Walter Becker was heard mysteriously echoing the words "Check your sources, bitches" along a New Jersey village boardwalk where a spurious story of a supergroup comprising of certain lesser musical minds and his lifelong friend Donald Fagan was forming.

The unmistakable voice was simultaneously heard uttering the words "tell The Edge to go back to music school" - a clear but not surprising repudiation it is reported, of the idea that Fagan might in a drunken stupor invite the rather dubious self acclaimed "Edge" to such a group, who, it turns out, is just an expert manipulator of rubber coated knobs on a thousand 45 dollar devices arrayed upon the floor at his untalented feet as he strums rather simplistic chords.

All in all, Becker's heavenly locution was a warning shot across the bow for both fans of Steely Dan and Fagan himself, who undoubtedly would never consider such options but it's good to know for sure.
