Firefighter Sean Ehrke with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue violated department policy regarding backing apparatus and ran over a residence mailbox. Firefighter paramedics in the back of the rescue attending to a patient described the sound as a “very loud and crunching”. Firefighter Ehrke went home sick shortly after the incident.
