As of January 1st , 2018 the west calumet area of East Chicago Indiana will begin the transition for industrial company's to come in and purchase residents out of their land to begin demolition. This has been a plan for quite some time now and with the recent closing of West calumet complex the cities officials have decided it is time to execute these plans to bring more industrial business to the area in hope to bring more jobs and value to the City.
