A big break came in Judge William Martin’s soul kidnapping case yesterday, as Jeffrey Pack inadvertently posted a picture of the crime on Facebook Sunday. Sharp observers noticed the image of Martin, since deceased, in the hands of Pack and his bride.
Martin had performed their wedding ceremony but had to leave quickly for the Nashville New Years’ celebration. The removal of the photo went unnoticed until several years later, as Martin’s terminal illness landed him in Hospice. Mrs Martin sent for the photo, saying, “He needs the picture from his office. His entire life and soul was there. His life is almost gone, but his soul will live on.” The Martins were devastated when the picture was not on the wall where it had hung for years.
Pack has not yet been located for questioning, but the two friends he mentioned in the post have been identified and interrogated. Dan Moore and Gene Gibson, who apparently attended the couple’s honeymoon, reluctantly admitted that Pack had indeed taken the picture down but claim they don’t what happened after that.
The investigation continues, but the Martin children are glad to be near closure on this matter. Dennis Martin was quoted as saying, “It’s been hard on the entire family, but I just hope and pray we can restore the image to its rightful place, and Father’s soul can rest In Peace.”
