A Battalion Chief from the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department is being investigated for ties to neo Nazis and other alt-right hate groups. Fire Chief and Boca Raton resident Mike Salzano is the focus of the probe by the South Florida Ethics Committee. Salzano, and ardent Trump supporter is believed to have been radicalized over the past two years. According to sources, the Florida based smoke eater was once a liberal democrat and was even playfully dubbed "Salbama" by his coworkers for his support of the former president.
Things changed, however, when the real estate mogul launched his campaign in 2015. Friends say that Salzano, once an avid Hip Hop aficionado and a former gang member who grew up in the crime plagued streets of College Point did a complete turnaround and became an anti-Muslim neo conservative bent on "Making Boca great again".
"The guy is nuts." Said a former hometown pal. "He was radicalized by a "blog. He shouldn't hold such a powerful position in a diverse city like Fort Lauderdale."
If ties are proven, Salzano may be forced to step down from his position.
