This afternoon, Thursday November 10th, 2022, Tony Clark from Cedar Point Amusement Holdings which owns Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky Ohio announced what will replace the Top Thrill Dragster coaster which shut down last year due to a fatal accident. What will replace the beloved Top Thrill Dragster? Reportedly a S&S LSM launch coaster. Tony talked about the new ride at the press conference stating, “It’ll be a high intense thrill ride, like nothing this country or even this world has seen with unexpected twists and turns, this will sure be a ride no one will forget.” The ride will reportedly stand at a hight of 160 feet and reach speeds of 60mph. Tony also stated at the conference that he expects to break ground on the new coaster sometime in March 2023. Coaster enthusiasts across the country have been criticizing Tony and Cedar Point with one of them saying, “Why can’t you just use the Top Thrill tower? So now you’re tearing that down? I will never give a dime to Cedar Fair again.” However, only time will tell if this new coaster will be just as good as the coaster it’s replacing. Concept Art and name of the new coaster are currently unavailable.
