RUSKIN – Target announced to day that the new Ruskin Florida Target store would permanently close before it opens or is built. The store was scheduled to open on February 30, 2018 at an undisclosed location. A spokesman for Target said, “We don't want to end up eventually closing like the other chain stores in Ruskin, including K-Mart, Food Lion, and the Ruskin Walmart that was located near the Home Depot”. The owners of the 133 Dollar stores in Ruskin breathed a sigh of relief.
Ruskin has long been known as the city where stores come to die. The owners of the 2 oldest places of business in Ruskin (Marians Subs and S&S Tacos & Stuff), had no comment as they know they will be here forever, and everyone loves them. Stay tuned for news on other store closings, including the Ruskin Mall and Hilton Hotel.
