White House sources have neither denied or confirmed a report by the New York Times that President Trump plans on switching political parties as early as this Friday Sept 15th. There has been speculation in the past week after two meeting with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Sen Chuck Schumer. Trump's working relationship with the GOP establishment has been icy since Trump's inauguration and his only gone down hill since the embarrassing failure to replace Obamacare in July. Wednesday night the President met with Pelosi & Schumer during a private dinner to discuss a new tax plan and DACA. Noticeably absent were GOP leaders.
Paul Ryan was asked to comment about this historical and unprecedented decision by a sitting President to change political parties. Ryan said " I can not comment on an unconfirmed rumor until I hear further from the President".
