Scientists at the UW Medical Research Center in Seattle, WA have successfully spliced human DNA into the Felis Domesticus (aka House Cat) genome. This genetic snippet allows polydactyl cats to oppose their sixth toe, making it possible for them to grab small items.

The test subject, known as, Mr. Fluffy Pants, has been able to hold and paint with a small paint brush and use tiny tools, including screw drivers and laser pointers.

Scientists are excited about the potential of this research, but we say let us know when the modified cats can help us put our IKEA furniture together!
